ABOUT FILM RATING GUIDE®

FILM RATING GUIDE® is the only internationally recognized film-rating system designed to expedite the rating process for filmmakers, while making it easy and simple for industry professionals and distribution companies to find material available for public screenings. FILM RATING GUIDE® was created as an alternative to the American motion picture rating classification system run by Hollywood executives, which costs thousands of dollars and can take up to six months or more to complete. With independent venues and new media distribution platforms opening up everyday, filmmakers are making a successful run showcasing their work on the road, in theaters and online. With distribution companies looking for a return on their investment as soon as a deal is inked, it's imperative to have a film pre-rated before sending out screeners.

After a FILM RATING GUIDE® agent receives a film via DVD, Blu-Ray or through private online links like Vimeo or Withoutabox, they review the paperwork and confirm the film is viewable before sending confirmation and expected date of rating delivery to submitter. Each project then receives a date and time to be screened in a private on-site viewing room for FILM RATING GUIDE® agents. While viewing the material, agents make classification regarding all questionable language and imagery included in the film. The rating process is completed with a FILM RATING GUIDE® judge who makes final marks and determines a final rating classification. Besides an official rating, each completed project receives a certificate of authentication and unique code which is entered into the FILM RATING GUIDE® INTERNATIONAL DATABASE. The FILM RATING GUIDE® INTERNATIONAL DATABASE is accessed by film houses, distribution companies, film festivals and movie theater companies who are able to confirm a rating and get contact information about each project.

Once a film has been rated by FILM RATING GUIDE® it can be accepted to screen in venues, film festivals and online distribution platforms all over the globe with one rating. Simple. Convenient. International. - FILM RATING GUIDE®.
